How to get apk file from Bluestacks App player For Windows?

       If you download an app from the Google Play store that is installed in your Bluestacks App Player and you want to get the .apk file so that you can use the downloaded app on your android device
Here is what you can do :

Step 1:

Download the Google Play store App From Here.

Step 2:

Install the app on Bluestacks.

Step 3:

Sign in using your Google account.Then Download the apps you want and install them.

Step 4:

Then Go to your File Manager or any App backup Application You have(I've used Astro File Manager).
Backup the apps you just downloaded.










Step 5:

After the backup is done Go to the folder where your apps are backed up.(For astro it is "sdcard>backups>apps")
Step 6:

Then Copy or Move the apps to "sdcard>bstfolder>Documents".




Step 7:

Minimize Bluestacks and go to your "My Documents" folder and see the .apk files of the apps you downloaded from Playstore.

THIS METHOD MAY NOT WORK FOR SOME APPS.
TRY USING APP BACKUP AND RESTORE app to BACKUP THE APPS AND THEN FOLLOW THE AFTER STEP 5.

      It happens with certain apps .. Try using App Backup And Restore or to backup the apps and then follow the Steps after Step 5.

    Thanks for the helpful video! I was able to get the .apk and then convert it to .bar, but I can't get the app (TranzIt BLU) to work on my z10 or Playbook. I feel like it might be due to my bluestacks looking like a phone running a very early version of android, hence the app I get from the play store is meant for an older phone too far apart technologically from my z10. Know of a way to get a .apk for a samsung galaxy s3? z10 has the same internals. Why does your bluestacks look more like a more recent version of android? Thanks for your time!

      Dear Cordiera,

      Thanks for watching the Video And sharing your concerns with me.Any old version app must work on any new version device.So according to me it is not a Compatibility issue.

      Currently Bluestacs is built on the Android 2.3(Gingerbread) kernel.So you really cannot download a Android 4 or higher apk from play store.(As GS3 is a ANDROID 4 running device )

      I have the same version of Bluestacs as you have.The only difference is that i am using a different HOME LAUNCHER.

      go to your bluestacks sdcard then find the Whatsapp folder in that there is a media folder in which you will find all the images and videos you downloaded from watsapp.
      Now copy those files to the bstfolder>documents
      Now you can go to your my documents and find the media.
      CHEERS!!

      If you are using Astro File Manager For Backup of apps then the location is"sdcard>backups>apps" .
      For any other app you are using try folders named "apps".For App Backup and Restore it is "App backup And Restore"..

    For those who cant find bsfolder

    1>> Download ES file explorer and Apk share (second one in play store)
    2>> Install both and launch Apk share.
    3>> U will see list with almost all apps. Just tap (click) on any app, select share, choose Save to ES file explorer (or similar option) and select SAVE.
    4>> It will save to document>>bluetooth>>share directory ( default, unless u change it).

    For those who want their pics, just open the pic, choose share option (from right top) and follow above steps.

    Hope it helps. I m using win 8.

    I cannot get past step 4. I am unable to locate the app backup function in Astro, and I have been on Google for days and cannot find any other file manager that has that feature, let alone identify what should be made into a .apk file.
